How the market works

Coins launch on Robinhood Chain and trade on their own bonding curve from the first block. These are the rules every coin follows.

The rules

Every coin has a raise cap, and a limited number of coins can be created.

When a coin reaches its raise cap, buys are closed until someone sells. Selling stays open, and a sale that makes room opens buys again.

When the launchpad reaches its coin limit, no new coins can be created. Buying and selling continue as normal.

The guardian or the owner can pause buys and creation on every coin, and only the owner reopens them. No role can pause selling.

Only wallets on the creator allowlist can launch a coin. The allowlist is not a review of any coin. Trading is open to everyone.

Reading a stall sign

Every coin page carries a stall sign ringed by bulbs. Each bulb is 0.1 ETH of the raise cap, and the lit bulbs show how much ETH the coin's curve holds. A buy lights bulbs and a sell switches them off.

When every bulb is lit the coin is at its cap: buys are closed until someone sells. Selling is always open. The sign is a picture of the contract's numbers, not a promise about the coin.

Caps and fees

Figures marked from the contract are read from the launchpad now. Others come from the data service.

Risks

  • A bug in the contracts. Funds in the launchpad could be lost or locked. No role can pause selling by design, but a bug could still stop it.
  • The data service lags. Lists, history and totals can be late. Trades use live contract prices and keep working.
  • The allowlist changes. The owner can add or remove creators. This never affects trading.
  • Buys are paused. The guardian or the owner can pause buys on every coin, for example while a problem is looked into. Only the owner reopens them. Selling stays open the whole time.
  • The coin limit changes. The owner can raise or lower the number of coins that can be created. This never affects trading, and a higher limit means more ETH can sit in the curves.
